Joe - re 3rd Book

Lewis Hinton

Hi Joe, I'm delighted that you enjoyed reading The Face Stone and Angel's Blade. I would very much appreciate it if you could post a short review for each book. You can post the reviews on this web site or wherever you bought the books (e.g. Amazon). The third book, Jehovah's Wind, mostly takes place not long after the events of Angel's Blade (the midsummer of 1970), and sees Sangster sent to a remote hotel on Dartmoor to search for a missing teenage boy. As Sangster digs deeper, he uncovers a secret that, if true, could literally 'change everything'. The plot blends science, science fiction, history, folklore, a little of the supernatural and a lot of location detail (Dartmoor is somewhere I know well, both the geography and the local culture). Jehovah's Wind also gives you more background about Sangster, particularly his time in the navy, with an opening set in WWII in the town of Ballyshannon, Donegal. I can't give you too many spoilers, but suffice it to say the title 'Jehovah's Wind' comes from the term used for the storm that drove the Spanish Armada up the English Channel and into the North Sea, stopping this fleet from landing in Flanders and picking up troops for an invasion of England, and so saving England in a time of great peril. At least that's what the historians say. Sangster finds that Jehovah's Wind may have a had a very different meaning indeed! The publication date is 28 June this year but we'll be posting more information about the book in the lead up, so please check our 'Beyond the Mystery' section if you have the time. All the best, Lewis

Joe

Hi Lewis, I just read angels blade and thought it was great very interesting plot. I read the face stone and went straight to angels blade so then went looking for a third book but seen that's not out til June. Wondering if you could give some info on what this book will be about? Can't wait to read it!! - Joe

Sangster inspiration

Lewis

Hi Brian,

Glad you enjoyed the books. Sangster is a mix of several characters I've known. My father for a start, who was also in the Royal Navy and for some reason our family couldn't properly work out (including my mum), was very attractive to women. Then there was a former work colleague who looked very much as I describe Sangster, was around the same age and married to a very attractive younger woman about the same age as Sarah. Then there is a little of myself in Sangster as well, but he's most like my father.

Best,

LH

Sangster inspiration

Hi Lewis. I loved the Face Stone and got very excited when Angel's Blade was released, couldn't put them down! I was wondering if you could tell me the inspiration behind the character of Jack Sangster? Is he based on a real person? Thanks.

Do you have plans for Sangster to visit other places?

Lewis

Hi Debbie,

Thanks for 'reaching out' as they say, and I'm glad you liked The Face Stone. I am not 100% sure yet about the next Sangster book, but the most complete new story is set mainly in North Wales, so I think this is where Sangster will go next. That being said, I also have some ideas for East Sussex, specifically around the town of Rye where I used to live, so at some point Sangster will probably find himself investigating a missing child there, but perhaps only in a couple of books time.

I also have a hankering to send him to France, so maybe...

Best,

Lewis

Do you have plans for Sangster to visit other places?

Debbie Price

Hi Lewis, I saw in the back of The Face Stone that the second Sangster book will be set in Cornwall and the third in Devon. I'm looking forward to reading these and was wondering whether you are able to say yet where else you plan to send Sangster? All the best, Debbie
